Earth Portraits
Intense color expression is a hallmark of Vincent Mancuso's paintings. A
Classical Realist, he calls his land and seascapes Earth Portraits. In them,
he seeks to engage viewers in an emotional encounter with the many faces of
the planet.
Artistic Background
Born in Greenwich, CT, Mancuso earned awards and high marks as a student in
art. As an adult, he studied portraiture for a decade with the
internationally renowned artist, Fran Lew. His artistic background includes
design drafting, illustration, interior design, and greeting card design. He
accepts portrait commissions and instructs students of all ages.
Old Masters
Mancuso worked with oils before focusing on pastels. He also paints in
acrylics. Influenced by the masters Degas, Renoir, Cassatt, Sargent, and
Bouguereau, his is a Classical, Realist painting style. Mancuso completed
several landscapes while living on a horse farm in New York. His travels in
the U.S. and Europe inspire him to paint alpine and marine works. A resident
of Saint Petersburg since 1995, he is captivated by Florida vistas, sunrise
to sunset.
Mancuso's original artwork and reproductions are in private and corporate
collections. He is a member of the Portrait Society of America and the
Pastel Society of America, and is Listed in Who's Who in American Art.
Affiliated as an instructor in 2010 with the Dazzio Art Experience, he also
served as an instructor at The Morean Arts Center from 2002 - 2010.

The Business of
Pastels: Timeless
More than a work of art, a Mancuso
portrait in
pastels is meant to
be a family's heritage that will endure for generations.
A palette of pastels is pure color pigment,
vivid color that will not fade over time.
Note: As a gift
to those who commission a portrait or purchase original art from my site, you will receive a
soft-cover edition of this colorful 56-page book. |
